Have you heard of Book Subscription Boxes? These are subscription boxes for books that are curated monthly. You can choose to buy one-offs or subscription terms (usually 6-12 months) If you do any sort of googling or searching (especially on Instagram) for this you’ll notice there are a TON of options when it comes to fulfilling your bookish needs. What’s in one of these box dealies you ask? Well, there’s a book that is typically selected by the company providing the goods as well as 4-8 items included that fit the theme of the novel. These items range from bookmarks to pins to beverages to blankets to totebags and more! Like I said, you have a whole world of options when it comes to these boxes. Literally. Many of them are shipped out from the USA, some from Australia or the UK and there are a few that are based in Canada plus other locations around the globe. Being a Canadian girl myself, I lean towards the Canadian companies.
Now I might be a bit biased considering I am a rep for this one (look for my discount code!) but I do absolutely adore Sweet Reads. And that’s who this post is going to feature. Fun Fact: They were voted Best Canadian Book Box in the Canadian Subscription Box Awards for 2019. Let’s talk about my top five items (in no particular order) that I have received in my monthly boxes. I’ve been receiving Sweet Reads boxes since September 2018 and let me tell you, they do not disappoint. If you decide after seeing these that you too must simply have this box, be sure to click HERE or the link at the bottom of the post and DONT FORGET to use my rep code (ahh here it is!): LITERARY for an additional 10% off! It’s how you tell them Sarah with the good books sent ya!
Ok let’s get down to the good stuff. Here are my top items in my Sweet Reads Subscription Boxes.
In every box there is always a beverage. Sweet Reads has included Tealish (another Canadian company) teas in several of them and I am never unhappy with it. The Oh Christmas Tea blend was in my special edition Christmas themed box. It was incredible and as much as I don’t like sharing my goodies, I pushed this tea on EVERYONE. It’s out of stock right now but if you click the picture you can go check out the other blends and products they offer.
This Bee By The Sea body cream that was included in my November box is the bee’s knees y’all! Ok, lame jokes aside, I seriously love this product. It smells great, it goes on smooth and it WORKS. Did I mention it’s also Canadian? Cool bees. Tap the picture to get some for yourself.
Anyone who knows me well is aware that I have a stationery obsession. So when this cute set of Danica Studios (a Vancouver, Canada company) notebooks arrived in my special edition YA box it was a very exciting day for me! One lined, one unlined, the perfect combo for note takers and bujo-ers. Tap the picture to get some of your very own!
I wish this had smell-o-vision because you wouldn’t believe how beautiful this The Perth Soap Co. Milk & Honey Cleansing Bar smells. Seriously. It’s described as scented with butter honey and milk notes as well as accented with sweet anise, orange, cinnamon and smooth sandlewood. Oh and the best part – it’s paraben free, phthalate free and they do not test on animals. I’m so happy it was included in the March box this year. I’ll be needing to get more of this soon. Tap the pic so you can smell great too! Not that I’m calling you stinky…
And how could I mention a book subscription box without talking about BOOKS!? Here are a few of my favourites that were included in the boxes these past 8 months. See any favourites? As you can tell, they try to switch up the genres and keep on trend with some fantastic authors you may or may not be aware of.
So, are you convinced that book subscription boxes, and Sweet Reads, are amazing? Be sure to visit their site to get your very own!
